Low Volume Mixed (LVM) 10DLC Use Case: When to Pick It

Low Volume Mixed (LVM) is the default A2P 10DLC use case for small senders with multiple message types. Picking the wrong tier triggers throttling or rejection.

Volume thresholds

LVM is bounded at roughly 2,000 message segments per day across all carriers. Once you exceed that consistently, file dedicated campaigns per use case (Marketing, Customer Care, etc.) instead.

When to use LVM vs Mixed

  • LVM: under ~2k segments/day, multiple message types, single brand.
  • Mixed: higher volume, multiple message types — but each carrier's daily limits still apply.
  • Single-purpose campaigns (Marketing, 2FA, Customer Care): better throughput than Mixed for high-volume senders.
